Frost Equity Initiative 2023 Accomplishments

Happy New Year! Thank you for assisting in our mission to partner with nonprofits, for-profits, schools, and parents to expose K-12 students in underrepresented communities to real-world science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics training and career paths. Thanks to your donations and support, we reached over 130 students this year with our programming. We hope you join us to make an even bigger impact in 2024!

All-Girls Cosmetic Science Club, in Partnership with Train of Thought and Sigma Gamma Rho's Theta Epsilon Sigma Chapter

In January, we launched our first Cosmetics Science Club event! We provided materials and instruction to teen girls to create natural and sustainable lip scrubs. Dr. Ashley Green-Woolard, former Toxicology Analyst for L'Oreal and Product Safety Manager at Amway, also taught the students about the exciting science behind each ingredient and how to pick the best skincare products.

Pictured above is Dr. Ashley Green-Woolard lecturing teen girls on cosmetology and skin in our all-girls Cosmetic Science Club event.

USGC Earth Day Event

For Earth Day, our Executive Director, LaRhonda "Ronnie" Frost, had the opportunity to discuss sustainability with Glendale, California's Dunsmore Elementary students, in partnership with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). USGBC's Green Schools project is doing important work--creating programs to engage students in understanding how we can be better stewards of the Earth.

Hispanic Heritage Month Panel with Activision at the University of Southern California

October's Hispanic Heritage Month Event was our largest program to date. Over 100 Los Angeles Unified School District students participated in this event, which was held at Taper Hall at the University of Southern California's Campus in Downtown Los Angeles.
